ملخص
Mr. Michael C. Williams (United Kingdom, 1949 – ) was appointed United Nations Special Coordinator for Lebanon by Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon in 2008. Prior to this position, he served as the Director of Human Rights in the United Nations Transitional Administration in Cambodia (UNTAC) in the early 1990s; and as expert on the Middle East, serving in various positions including UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, and as Secretary-General's Special Adviser on the Situation in the Middle East. Before he began working with the United Nations, Mr. Williams spent time in different capacities and organizations, including: as the United Kingdom's Special Representative for the Middle East and Special Projects; and at the International Institute for Strategic Studies, the BBC World Service and Amnesty International. In this interview, conducted on 7 July 1998, Mr. Williams described his experiences as Director of UNTAC in Cambodia. At the time of this interview, Mr. Williams was serving as a Senior Fellow at the International Institute for Strategic Studies.
